Prerna has worked and spoken on subjects such as depression, OCD, anxiety, anger management, time management, motivation, Communication skills, food de-addiction, the selfie fever, the craze for social media, the purpose of life, life ethics, the power of positive attitude, marital counselling, women empowerment and care for the girl child. On 10 April 2018, The Asian Age published her views in an article on public issues that celebrity families could get into and need to avoid. On 26 February 2018, The Hindu highlighted her discourse on the higher sense of smell that women possess in contrast to men and how it shapes up in the form of their distinct Habits and preferences.

Apart from her practice in psychology, Prerna is currently serving as a Mind Trainer at the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (a Government of India initiative); member of advisory committee, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR); external expert for the National Technical Board on Nutrition (NTBN); member of working group of the Ministry of Woman and Child Development regarding issues of under-nutrition; and member of Internal Complaints Committee (Vishakha) for Sexual Harassment, Press Information Bureau (PIB). In April 2017, she was appointed the Director of Scientific Sessions for the World Health Global Action Summit held under the aegis of the WHO.

On 5 June 2017, the Hindustan Times featured Prerna as an expert explaining the cause and after-effects of social media addiction. Amar Ujala featured her columns on career counselling and stress management for Students and aspiring Professionals. Outlook India hosted her write-up talking about the trend of self-starvation among young women for the sake of beauty.

The 16 October 2015 edition of the Times of India featured her among a panel of experts who discussed the rising trend of depression among the urban youth. On 23 January 2016, the then President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, felicitated 100 women achievers on the anniversary of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign. Prerna was awarded the honor for her contributions in the field of mental health.

She has also been involved with NGOs on a voluntary basis. From 2014 to 2016, she worked as a member of the Censor Board, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. She headed the CII Committee on Core Issues of Women in Delhi from 2010 to 2012.

Prerna Kohli (born 21 December 1965) is an Indian clinical psychologist. She holds a Doctorate degree and is a four-time gold medalist in Clinical Psychology. Prerna holds 20 years of experience in delivering psychotherapy and counselling sessions, and runs her private practice from DLF City in Gurugram. She is a 2016 recipient of the ‘100 Women Achievers of India’ award from the President of India. She is also a member of government Committees on woman and child welfare, nutrition, social work and mental health.
