Lee Keltner is the man who was shot dead by a safety officer employed during a dissent in Denver on Saturday has been recognized as a neighborhood hatter and a Military veteran.

Patriot Rally

Lee Keltner was gunned down shortly after 3:30 p.m. Declared dead during a “Patriot Rally” outside the Denver Art Museum and later at a local hospital, the Sun reported on Sunday.

“My son Lee was at the Patriot rally in Denver today,” Keltner’s mother Carole wrote on the Northeast Arkansas Tea Party Facebook group. “He was murdered for supporting the police.”

Denver Police said the shooter was a “private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa” who was confirmed by a local television station that he had been hired to investigate his reporters.

“His 24-year-old son was with him,” the mother continued. “I moved to Arkansas because Colorado had become too expensive and too liberal. The left is out of control. ”

According to a 2015 Denver Post profile, Keltner has been a hatter at Crossfire Hats in Historic Denver for over 20 years. He said he opened the store in the Cattle Exchange building in 1994 and only missed a stock market when he was in the military.

“I am a compatriot who feels at home here,” he said in a YouTube video at the time. “It’s just very relaxed, very easy going, surrounded by a lot of quirks.”

Dramatic video captured the moment Keltner was gunned down by protesters during a clash in the museum’s courtyard.

The footage shows Keltner arguing with another man before spraying the suspected shooter with what appears to be a showdown. The man fires a shot and Keltner falls to the ground.

The shooter, identified as a security guard by Detective Agency Pinkerton, confirmed 9News-TV. The man was taken into custody but has not been identified.
