The shootings began in Chicago on the southside at the 5300 block of South East End Avenue around 1:50 pm local time on Saturday afternoon, if a defendant identified as Jason Nightengale, opened fire on a 30-year-old University of Chicago student while he had been sitting on his vehicle, killing him.
